How would a player be able to enter an event before it is open to other players?

Most events are announced in the middle of the screen how much time is left until the entrance to it closes. If it's something else, you can describe it in more detail?

Nightmare event, I was waiting at the entrance, event starts and I immediately enter. A DL was already inside, I would have seen him enter if he'd gotten in through the Relic entrance.

Theoretically, this shouldn't happen. You can't get in ahead of time, and as far as I know, there are no other entrances :).
Perhaps this is some kind of bug.
